Sharon (Crawley, UK)

For at least eight years, Sharon had back problems. In the mornings she couldn’t get out of bed because her back was so stiff and in so much pain; she had to roll out of bed. The doctor diagnosed an inflamed back, sent her for physiotherapy and put her on anti-inflammatory tablets. The condition continued and Sharon just thought she had to live with it.

On a Friday evening meeting where Lex was ministering, he said a blanket prayer, ‘If anyone here has got pain, I’m going to tell it to go,’ and shouted, ‘Go!’ Sharon didn’t know how much longer she would be able to sit in the chair as she had pain in her back and shinbone. However, when Lex said, ‘Go!’ the pain in Sharon’s shinbone instantly went. Lex then started calling people up for various things but backs weren’t mentioned. Sharon went up anyway, believing that if God could take away the pain in her shinbone He could certainly heal her back. Lex prayed for her and something happened in her hips. It felt like something was travelling down and she also felt some freedom in her shoulders. As Lex was praying for Sharon, she was thinking, ‘Wait until tomorrow morning when I try and get out of bed and can’t!’ But when Sharon testified at church she said that when she woke up the day after her healing, her back was completely free and continues to have that freedom! Praise God!

Paul Shinner (New Community Church, South London, UK)

"During the service, Lex said he wanted people with knee problems to come forward to receive healing.

I had an arthritic knee as a result of four knee operations incurred when playing professional football. In fact, I was pensioned off and had to retire early because of this. I had virtually stopped all physical activity as the knee was getting progressively worse and more painful, and resulted in a noticeable limp when walking. I came down to the front and Lex prayed over me. Lex asked me how I felt and I admitted that the pain was no longer there. He then asked me to start jogging on the spot, which I did, without pain. He then asked me to start jogging across the floor, which I did, again without any pain or discomfort. At the end I was sprinting!

My friends, Mark and Tom, were watching this in total amazement and Mark commented afterwards that he said he had never seen me move so fast even when I was playing professional football!

The best result for me was still to come. At the end of the service Lex gave an open invitation for people to make a commitment to Christ. Mark and Tom both stepped down to the front and both promptly committed themselves to Christ!"

Audrey Nair (Gateway Church, Dubai)

"Friends in Mumbai were shocked at my appearance and recommended me to a well-known gastroenterologist, whose diagnosis was ‘mal-absorption of food caused by a damaged and weak stomach lining’. He put me onto a course of medications. Prior to leaving for Dubai, I began to consult with a dietician who urged me to eat pre-digested food. In simple terms, I was to cook my meals until they were overdone and then run them through a blender – just like baby food! I hated that! I cried to the Lord for days and finally gave in. And that's the food I ate until the day Lex arrived.

I came to Lex’s meeting with a nagging ache in my stomach. Something I had eaten during the day didn't go down well – this was a regular feature. All through the week prior to Lex’s visit to Dubai, I was talking to Jesus about expecting to be healed. God met me right where I was and just where I needed him!  In my testimony the following week, I told our church that my stomach heaved and churned so much that evening as I lay under the power of the Holy Spirit. Later on that evening, I heard my Father say to me, ‘You are Mine.’

After receiving my healing that night I had this delicious sense of warmth enveloping me. I slept like a baby and continued to have refreshing catnaps all through Friday and Saturday! During my time with Jesus the next morning, I was reminded about a promise He had given me from Joel 2:26, ‘You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you…’ The Lord has fulfilled His promise to me. The words of Isaiah 55:10-11 came alive!  He sent His word and healed my disease."

Peter Williamson (Crawley, UK)

"Last April, I went skiing and had a bad fall. Following an MRI scan at the hospital it was shown that both cruciate ligaments, which will never repair without surgery, and the inner ligament of my right knee had all severed. Although I have been on an intensive physiotherapy programme, I found it difficult to walk up and down stairs. Bending my knee was virtually impossible. Unable to run, kick a football or even kneel on my right knee, I was really despondent, especially as my work requires a lot of bending. Walking with a very noticeable limp, I began to accept the situation as it was and just put up with it.

God had other ideas! Lex was speaking over that weekend and I asked him if he would pray for my knee. He knelt down, cupped my knee in his hands and demanded in Jesus’ name that it be healed. My knee felt odd on the way back from church. On returning home, I had the urge to try and run up the stairs, which I did, then to run back down – again it was easy, without pain. I then proceeded to go into the garden and kick the children’s football around and finished it off by hopping on, what was, my bad knee. There was no doubt that I had been healed. Following this amazing outcome, I have continued with my programme of physiotherapy, only because I enjoy it, and have amazed people by now being able to run on the treadmill.

I have another appointment with my consultant in six months’ time; it will be a fantastic opportunity to tell of God’s sovereignty. What the doctors said would take an operation and nine months on crutches, God did in five seconds! My life is so much easier. I can use my knee as I used to. It is fantastic!"

(Peter subsequently visited a physiotherapist who has told him there is no difference between both his knees and that the injured one is completely normal!)

"Even before the prayer, something simply adjusted in his back as he was sitting there. He shifted in his seat and felt healed but didn’t say anything that night. That was wonderful but when he shared it the next day, after a painless night, he mentioned that he has suffered with this condition for 40 years!"

Diana Floros (Boston, USA)

"For the past five years I have lived with constant pain all over my body. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and the beginnings of rheumatoid arthritis. My sleep was very disturbed by the pain. My family had to deal with my bad days and my few OK days. I kept going to the doctors but there is not much help available for fibromyalgia patients. The only thing they could do for me was prescribe medications. In 2005, I was taking between seven and twelve pills each day.

In January 2006, our pastor David Hill was teaching on healing. My husband started praying for healing in my life. My children then joined him and they prayed together for my healing every day. At first I did not participate because I always believed that God had given the doctors the knowledge to help me.

After a while I felt that God was asking me to trust Him and to have faith, and I did. We prayed every night asking God to heal me. Now I can say that God has done it. I am healed! I have not taken medication for about four months! I wake up every morning refreshed and without pain. No more pain!"
