Wednesday 9th July

Seminar 01

Speaker: John Groves
Title: Our Journey With God : Part 1: Where Have We Come From?
Synopsis: This is the first of two seminars looking at the prophetic / historic context of the type of churches sometimes called 'Restoration Church' or 'New Church'. John has been involved in church leadership within churches related to Terry Virgo's apostolic ministry for 30 years. He will be drawing on that experience in this seminar as he looks at the prophetic foundations that have given direction to where we are now. We will be looking at the prophecies and key Scriptures that have much to say to us with regard to our church life today. N.B. Although this seminar is 'Part 1' of two that are linked together, it can stand alone should delegates be unable to attend both.

Seminar 02
Speaker: John Hosier
Title: Preaching That Communicates, Part 1
Synopsis: Vital as hermeneutics and homiletics are to good preaching, there are other elements needed to make it really effective. To understand what those elements are involves us drawing on history, observation and experience. Preaching that communicates is explosive, not an anaesthetic!

Seminar 03
Speaker: Ray Lowe
Title: What We Do In Life Echoes In Eternity : Part 1: Contending For The Word
Synopsis: Why was the Bible so long a forbidden book? Why was the church so afraid of it being available to the common man? Why did John Wycliffe and William Tyndale risk life and limb to put the English Bible in the hands of ordinary people? Why did the great Swiss Reformer, Ulrich Zwingli, put to death early Anabaptist leaders by drowning because they desired a return to Biblical Christianity?

Thursday 10th July

Seminar 04
Speaker: Greg Haslam
Title: Prophetic Preaching : Part 1: Is There A Prophet In The House?
Synopsis: This is an opportunity to explore the authentic reality, divine purpose and sheer necessity for prophetic ministry to operate in the church today. Defining clearly what prophecy is, we'll see some of the ways Christ speaks directly to his people so that his voice is heard. We'll offer provocative reasons to demonstrate why we dare not neglect this gift as we seek to build healthy churches that honour Christ and impact the nations.

Seminar 05
Speaker: Ray Lowe
Title: What We Do In Life Echoes In Eternity : Part 2: Passion For Mission
Synopsis: What could lead Moravian Christians to sell their freedom so as to serve as slaves on the galleys to reach others with the gospel? What made such bright intelligent outstanding young Americans, John and Betty Stam, offer themselves as missionaries in China only to be martyred by communist soldiers? What compelled Jim Elliot and his friends to study for years so they could reach the lost tribes of Ecuador only to be speared to death before a word of the gospel was spoken? Was all this simply a waste of young bright lives or a sound investment in the kingdom of God? What prompts such passion for mission? What do these stories teach us in our generation?

Friday 11th July

Seminar 06
Speaker: Greg Haslam
Title: Prophetic Preaching : Part 2: Preaching Like A Prophet
Synopsis: Arguably, some of the best preachers you've ever heard preach messages suffused with prophetic insights and striking revelatory disclosures that often stun their hearers. The question is, 'How does this happen and what distinguishes prophetic preachers from other speakers and teachers?' This seminar will profile such messengers and encourage others to operate more regularly and effectively in this vital ministry.

Seminar 07
Speaker: John Groves
Title: Our Journey With God : Part 2: Where Are We Going?
Synopsis: This is the second of two seminars looking at the prophetic / historic context of so-called 'Restoration Churches' or 'New Churches'. In this seminar John will be looking at some of the formative prophetic words that have still to be fulfilled. He will consider the direction in which God is pointing us for the years to come. We will be looking at key Scriptures as well as prophetic words. N.B. This seminar, like 'Part 1' on Wednesday, can stand alone should delegates be unable to attend both.

Seminar 08
Speaker: John Hosier
Title: Preaching That Communicates, Part 2
Synopsis: Romans 8 is the great Biblical statement on Christian assurance. The chapter begins with No Condemnation and ends with No Separation. But many believers question the absolute security of salvation. Romans 8 has the answers. How are we to understand this teaching and how can we effectively communicate it?
